Read Aloud iOS: three voice-related issues

First, thanks for working on Read Aloud for iOS — it's super handy!

1. Speech rate resets when backing out of a paper

The selected speech rate persists when Read Aloud is activated/deactivated, but is forgotten when backing out of a paper and returning to it. Is this intentional as a UX decision?

2. Voice previews overlap

In Read Aloud settings, tap "Switch" and then quickly select several voices one after another from the voice list. The previews continue playing over each other, resulting in multiple voices speaking simultaneously.

3. US English local voices sound distorted

The English (United States) local voices sound extremely distorted/weird on iOS. Is this an Easter egg of sorts?

Can you email a recording of the "distorted/weird" local voices to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread?

Bear in mind that system voices on iOS and macOS are just extremely bad and antiquated in general (except for Siri voices, which we can't access), so what you're hearing might be normal. Compare it to the same voice in the system settings for reference.
