Bibliography APA 7th Edition incorrect format

When using Zotero to create a bibliography for APA 7th edition, the format does not comply with APAs standards. APA requests double spacing between lines and within every paragraph, every line except for the first line has to be indented. The problem can be solved by switching the citation style in the document preferences to another style and then back to APA. A fix seems necessary, since this workaround may take some time with updating every field in larger documents.

  • That's not a problem with a style, and it's also not a general issue.l The problem is that something is resetting the bibliography style Zotero applies to match APA settings. Switching to a different style and back fixes that (and for most people, APA just appears correctly from the start).
  • Hi, has anyone solved this issue?
I am on Google docs and newest Zotero (the previous gave me zero issues, this one - not so lucky).
    I have tried:
    - updating Chrome,
    - restarting my browser
    - restarting Zotero
    - switching to a different style and back
I did all of that multiple times and bibliography keeps coming back not styled properly.
I have no default styles in my Google Docs and haven't changed in my setup since doing the previous papers.

I've also now went through each in text citation and updated the reference just in case it helps.. it didn't.
  • I also restarted my laptop a couple of times, forgot to mention.
  • It also looks like the issue is specific to APA7 which I need, other styles seem to be applied correctly.
  • Since this isn't a general issue and Google Docs is particularly finicky to troubleshoot -- any reason you couldn't just work around this and apply the bib formatting at the end before sending it off? That shouldn't be necessary, but it's also just 2mins of work
