Subscription

Hi,
I received a note to say that I had reached my storage limit and that I have to upgrade storage.
I checked my storage and it's only 97.1MB. Anyone know if there's an issue with how the storage is being calculated? A quick answer would be appreciated because the email gave me 5 days to respond. Thanks.
  • I'm fairly sure you wouldn't get an email about that. Either the email was about _renewing_ an existing storage subscription or it is likely a scam. Could you post the relevant part of the email here?

You don't have a subscription on the account you're posting from (and wouldn't need one with that usage).

We only email about a storage subscription if you already have one, so it wouldn't be related to the account you're posting from.

You would only get a message saying you need to upgrade directly in Zotero.
  • Thanks for the feedback. The mail went to my German mailbox. Here's a screenshot.

  • Right, so this is legit but a) it's about renewing storage, not reaching your storage limit (you would get this if you are currently paying for storage regardless of how much you are using) and b) as per fcheslack, it's not about the account you are posting from.
  • Thanks everyone.
Am confused. If the email was only for those who have a storage subscription as advised by Fcheslack, then I wonder why I got the email.

I don't have a storage subscription as far as I know.

You have a different Zotero account tied to the email address that was sent to and it has a subscription.
  • Ah wa! Really?

Must have been set up in my giddy undergraduate days but I don't recall ever paying for a subscription.
What should I do? Should I delete that account?
Again, thanks for the info and all your help.
  • you can login using the email address (including getting a password reminder if needed), check if there is anything in the account you need, and otherwise delete it, yet
  • Hello everyone. Thanks for the patience and the feedback.
I just re-tracked my account history:
    1. I had issues with my laptop and after a repair, I could not access my Zotero library. As you may have seen from my previous post, I went into academic hyperdrive when I could not sync.
I think must have accidentally or without intention opened a new account.
    2. Now I have two accounts, under two email addresses, but with the older one now showing my entire - thought lost- library!!!
Is there anyway I can now use that? If I can access that, I shall renew the storage and streamline my work. Thanks, everyone. Your help is ALWAYS appreciated.
  • I got a note yesterday that the old account with the library I wanted is now locked. I was hoping to get some advice before I wrote again, but it has given me a deadline to unlock the library. So I am trying to get this resolved before more headaches.
Ideally, I would like to sync my work to the old library has which has ALL the references I need. I realize that I will have to renew the subscription and will be happy to do that. However, am not sure how to set up the synching to this account and library so that the chapters I have will smoothly take over the citations and enable the building of a bibliography later. Perhaps someone has advice for me? Thanks for help.
