Disappearing Endnotes

I am using Chicago shortened endnotes citations. My document has gaps in how the citations are appearing, even though I have not deleted them in-text. The endnotes jump from 48 to 53 for example and leave a blank space on the page. Has this happened to anyone? I have tried refreshing the document several times and accepted all tracked changes.
  • Zotero doesn't handle endnote numbering -- that's done entirely by your word processor (Word, I assume). You can search for solutions to this with Word -- most commonly this is related to track changes.

  • Hi, thanks for your insight, however, I think it is a Zotero issue because of how the endnotes are appearing. I have attached a screenshot. https://s3.amazonaws.com/zotero.org/images/forums/u4280719/eh86w4mhibar9rsrcuh3.png
  • The only thing I'm seeing is tracked changes in an endnote which is one of the known causes of this in Word. As I said, Zotero has nothing to do with note numbering and this is widely reported independent of Zotero
  • The impacted citations are not in tracked changes. I see them in-text. I also accepted all my tracked changes and re-started the document, yet the issue persists.
Thanks for your thoughts. I would appreciate the thoughts of others who may have dealt with this, too.
