Upgrade StorageAdding in-text citation does not work in Word on MacOS

Tried adding an intext citation to a pre-existing word document, but just get a spinning ball. Tried reinstalling Zotero, Word, updating to Zotero 9.0.5, copying and pasting to a new document, duplicating the document, all without success.
Adding a random citation to a brand new document works. How to fix this issues?
