Fields flattened when copy pasted from zotero (notes and pdf) to word

Hello,

When I copy part of zotero notes with citations, I can paste them on a word document but the fields are automatically flattened. If I choose when pasting "conserve plain text only", then I see a reference to the zotero citation "([Hardin, 2002](zotero://select/library/items/SVGINVDF))", but it is not an active field...

Some citations fiels that I imported before are still active on the same word document and I can still make a bibliography out of it but not new ones I add. Using the zotero tab on word for adding a citation or note still works.

Also, I can drag an text extract directly from a pdf to the word document, but then it appear as a hyperlink and I receive a word warning message concerning security.

I have tried everything explained in the troubleshooting sections "Mac" and "Word processor plugin" but nothing works. I have also checked similar issues on the forum but found nothing quite the same.

Can anyone help with that?
Thanks in advance
  • Hello!
Has anyone had the occasion to check this issue, or does anyone encountered similar issue while copy pasting notes with in-text linked zotero citations?
  • There has never been an ability to copy from anywhere in Zotero to a Word processor with active fields, not sure what you're remembering, but definitely not this.

You can add both notes and annotations via the word processor add-on and those will create active citations.
  • Thank you for your answer! I am sorry it seems I got a bit overwhelmed by my work and my brain invented an error...
