Articles in various fields of CS and Bioinformatics may include links to some software or web server. I would like to have a dedicated field in the data base to store this URL.

Sometimes, the URL in the actual article is outdated, but the user is able to identify the new URL. Storing it in a dedicated field would make life much easier - and may make sense to provide it as well when citing that article.
