  • Which Zotero version and OS?
  • PDF saved (never opened) in an earlier version of Zotero (probably 7, maybe 8)
    Now running 10.0-beta.5+b7437faf5

    macOS 26.5.1 (25F80)

Works fine for me with the same configuration. And all fonts (subset) are embedded (Advent Pro and Noto Sans). Do you see the correct kanji in Preview?
  • No, nor in Acrobat or Skim.

I redownloaded it the PDF. It displays properly, but even the pagination is different with the fonts properly embedded. Had to redo all my highlights and notes, but worth it.

Any pointers for how to avoid this in the future?
