My plan was cut short for some reason.

So I started my payed plan in October 16th, the 2GB plan. A couple of months later I upgraded my plan to 6GB because I needed more space. As I had understood, my plan would continue until October as a 6GB plan, and then two more months after that, so it would complete 1 year after the day I payed for 6GB plan. So, last May 12th my plan ended and got downgraded to the free plan. So I thought it was a year, went an check what happened, and I found that my 6GB plan had ended (confirmed here in the site, the 6GB plan ended). I went and searched for the invoices, and in my email and in Zotero only the initial October invoice is there, no November 6GB plan invoice. But my expired plan is the 6GB, and I am using 3286.6 MB currently, so I had to have had the 6GB plan.

What am I missing here? I've sent a email to Zotero and the mother company and no answers, and I'm finishing my masters and I can't use my ipad for reading my current stuff, I have to do that on my computer only.

You didn't pay again when you switched plans. It just moved your expiration date forward.

  • This seems overly complicated, and I'm sure I'm not the first being puzzled by this. If the payment of the 6GB plan had happened ate the time I made the switch, none of this would've happened.

Your complaint is that we didn't charge you more?

The point of this system is that you can switch between plans at any time as your storage needs change or you realize you need more storage than you originally signed up for. Otherwise, if you realized you needed more than 2 GB shortly after subscribing, you'd need to pay more — for a total of $80 instead of $60 — and extend your subscription for longer than the year you originally signed up for. I don't think most people would find that preferable.

The storage plan shows you what the new expiration date will be when you go to switch plans, and it says explicitly that you won't be charged until then.
