can't highlight main body text

A certain paper (https://scixplorer.org/abs/1995ApJ...455L.143S/abstract) has a vertical hyperlink in the margin of the paper which prevents any of the main body text from being highlighted on any of the pages. This vertical text is always selected instead regardless of where text is selected in the main body. This is for double click selection. Click and drag always correctly highlights nothing.

Thanks very much for that. But it would be useful, if only a scan version is available, that the main body text is able to be selected.

You should look into PDF Optical Character Recognition (OCR). Zotero doesn't have embedded OCR, but you can easily do it with dozens of external tools and reimport the PDF file back to Zotero.
