Subsequent shortened notes won't shorten the book title

Hi, I'm having an issue all of a sudden where my book title won't shorten for subsequent citations in Zotero (I am using CMS 18).

Here's the original citation:

I decided to test it with another book, and it worked correctly.
Original:

Is there a way to fix this issue or do I need to go in and manually change my citations.

    Check if the Short Title field is filled in Zotero for that book. It's populated automatically with most import methods, but not, e.g., if you're manually adding an item (and the title isn't shortened automatically using some sort of rule for citations: it just uses that field)
