Style Request: APA 5

Hi everyone,

I can't seem to find APA 5 in the style repository or here: https://editor.citationstyles.org/searchByName/.

I know it's an old style but I'm working on a manuscript for the Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry (JCPP) and they specifically request APA 5.

I was able to find a .csl APA 5 file on a github repository (see here: https://github.com/DataKritter/zotero-citation-styles/blob/master/apa-5th-edition.csl) but for whatever reason I am unable to add it manually in my style manager.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

clicking on the "Raw" button on that repository in Chrome/Edge/Firefox with the Zotero connector installed and Zotero open should install the style and does for me (I believe this won't work with Safari).

When I try that it just adds the website as a source:

When I download the raw file and click to open it, Zotero does ask if I want to install it:

But then when I look for it in the style manager it still doesn't show up:

Any idea what I could be doing wrong?

Right click on the "Raw" and choose "Save as...". That downloads the .csl file to your hard disc. Then install it in Zotero (double click or via menu).

Still doesn't show up in the Style Manager...
Even when I try to manually add it by selecting "Add from File..." it allows me to select the .csl file but it doesn't show up in the list...

You'll need to modify the style slightly to get it working:
change filename to: apa-5th-edition-test.csl
Then open the style with an editor and paste these over the lines that look the same (4-7):

<title>American Psychological Association 5th edition Test</title>
    <title-short>APA</title-short>
    <id>http://www.zotero.org/styles/apa-5th-edition-test</id>
    <link href="http://www.zotero.org/styles/apa-5th-edition-test" rel="self"/>

Then install.
