My Zotera add in crashed when trying to do citations and bibliography

Can anyone tell me how to get proof of this crash for my examers to verify that the Zotera add in to Word actually did crash? Any help very very gladly received

    Crashed exactly how? The best you can do in terms of "proof" is a screenshot (say of the error message), but obviously that doesn't prove all that much.

    Sadly no screenshort was taken (near the end of a deadline so was panicking a bit). Are there any logs that zotero produces or that Word produces that are analysable at all? If so, how would I go about analysing them and getting evidence of a crash? Thanks for all your help

    There are no logs in Zotero. There's error reports if you haven't restarted Zotero since (those would be under Help --> Report Errors) but that's about it.

    I don't know about Word logs -- probably depends on the nature of the error, but I wouldn't have high hopes, honestly.

    Thanks so much. Have done that and there is a long list of errors but no associated time and date that I can see. The errors are JavaScript Error Failed to load or JavaScript websocket connection closed 1006. But no time or date

    What you're seeing there isn't relevant.

    Your OS might have crash logs for past app crashes, but that's not something we can help with. There are no logs of past crashes in Zotero itself.

    Obviously we don't want Zotero or Word to crash, and if you can reproduce a problem, we're happy to troubleshoot it. But people using Zotero, Word, or any other tool are obviously responsible for completing work before their own deadlines.

    In a large word processor document, we recommend periodically making sure that the bibliography is being generated properly so there are no surprises before a deadline.

    Thank you, of course you are quite right in retrospect but it has always worked quickly for me in the past and this time when it didn’t work I was panicking. Could you look at this error Report and just double check that this is irrelevant and can’t tell us the time and date that it crashed (ID 2083873908)
