Old Citation Dialogue please

The new style citation dialogue appears to have introduced at least one extra stage to complete the citation. Previously I would click on the item in the dialogue in my library, enter the page or extra bit and click OK. Now I have to open the thingy at the top of the dialogue. Just adding the page number and pressing 'done' without pressing return does not put the page number in.

I don't see this as progress. I have perhaps 1,200 citations in each work, so just adding one extra stage to the process eats up time. Any way the old style can be put back as an option for old gits like me?
  • You can just add the page number directly, so select the citation, then type "12" (or whatever other number) in the citation bar and press return twice. Should be much faster than the clicking around in the classic add citation dialog.

If you do need to access the prefix and suffix fields, using the arrow keys (back arrow to select, down arrow to open, tab/tab to get into the prefix field) is also faster than clicking around the interface.

The ability to quickly select items open or selected in Zotero should also speed things up significantly -- at least it does for me.

We've added a documentation page that explains some of the advantages of the new dialog, including faster adding of page numbers, for people used to the classic dialog:
