Android app access to OneDrive

edited 8 days ago
I have v9.0.2 on my laptop. Database and storage are local - but they are backed up (not synced) to OneDrive.

How do I give the app on my Android tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab S3; SM-T820) access to my OneDrive, so that I can read my pdf (and other) attachments?

The mobile apps support stored files. If you're using Zotero file syncing, OneDrive wouldn't be involved, and you can open files via the app.
  • I'm not using Zotero file syncing. The files are in the Zotero data directory on my laptop. Does this mean I should copy the Zotero data directory (with database and storage) to my mobile? How do I tell the app where it is?
  • Are you saying you have your data directory in OneDrive? Because you absolutely cannot do that.
If you want access to your files from the mobile app, the only options are Zotero file storage or WebDAV. Zotero on mobile is organized completely differently than the desktop version and your data folder is of no use to it.
  • No. My data directory is at C:\Users\\Zotero. It is 3.05 Gb with 5,833 Files, 2,364 Folders. I know my data directory cannont be on OneDrive - but I did copy (not sync) it to OneDrive. I now understand that what I had in mind does not work.

Where I can learn about WebDAV and how to use it?

Are there any step by step instructions for the Android app for new users?

. . . and, thanks for your patience.
