add file import error

I just imported the contents of a folder with the add files button and most of them are green so worked. I clicked on a green one and it took me to the PDF not the book as a citation. I found the book and the PDF is not linked, but it's green indicating it's worked. it has not.

    Just to be clear -- the PDF wouldn't get linked to an existing item, it would create a new parent item to which it is attached, so to check that it's not working you'd have to continue seeing the PDF as a top-level item. Is that really the case? And for a PDF that got a green checkmark for metadata found?
