Android connected to Synology WebDAV, but won't open the files

My Zotero files are stored on my Synology drive. My desktop and laptop both connect to it through tailscale and Webdav. I installed Zotero app on my android, turned on the tailscale VPN and connected to the WebDAV. It verified the server. The structure of my files and names of my files show up. When I click on the file info, then the attachment on the bottom, nothing happens. Why can't I open my pdfs?
  • Anybody know how to help with this.

It is pointed to the correct Webdav servers on my NAS because the android app syncs new files I added through my desktop, but the icon next to them shows the "link chain." When I go to open it and select the attachment pdf, nothing happens.

You're trying to open linked files. File syncing only deals with stored files.

Okay, thanks for the reply. So how can I read the pdf journal articles that I have saved on my Snynology NAS with my android besides Zotero cloud storage? I remember reading them when my Webdav was pointed to an online server rather than my home NAS a few years back.

Or can somebody walk me through on how to do this, if it is possible, to read zotero pdfs on an android through tailscale and my synology nas using webdav? Thanks in advance! I am not sure why it seems so complicated and the more I dig into it online, the more of a computer programer I feel like I need to be.
