Error report #413197122 : A variable has been deleted in all "Extra" fields except one

edited 2 days ago
Hello,

I was using this variable in my custom CSL :
<choose>
<if variable="original-date">
<date variable="original-date" prefix=" (Ouvrage original publié en " suffix=")">
<date-part name="year"/>
</date>
</if>

Everything worked as intended when typing {:original-date:} in the "Extra" field of bibliographic entries, and so I had accumulated a faire number of those.

This morning I launched up Zotero, and all those addendas had disappeared except one.

Please help me figure what happened and, the case being, fix that bug.

A nice day to all!
  • Note that 7.0.31 has an original date field. The information from Extra should have migrated there (it's not currently used in citations but that's a bug that should be fixed shortly). Can you check if you see the dates there?
  • Yes, absolutely, the dates are all moved there! We can close this post then... Thank you very much

    Mapping of Original Date is fixed in Zotero 7.0.32, available now via Help → Check for Updates.
  • Hey, while on the subject. Is the control of where the period goes in the bibliographic entry render dependant on the CSL ? Because right now it goes after the parentheses bracketing the original date, while it should go before according to the APA logic.

    Here's an exemple of how it displays now:
    NIETZSCHE, F. (1887). The Gay Science (édité par B. Williams, traduit par J. Nauckhoff et A. Del Caro). Cambridge University Press (Ouvrage original publié en 1887).

    Here's an exemple of how it should display:
    NIETZSCHE, F. (1887). The Gay Science (édité par B. Williams, traduit par J. Nauckhoff et A. Del Caro). Cambridge University Press. (Ouvrage original publié en 1887)

    Also, could the original date info be a column in the main view? That would be useful for navigating texts by real chronological order...
  • Yes, punctuation is up to the CSL style. It is correct in the APA 7 style on the repository.
