Attachments uploaded

Hi is there a way to check that all my attachments are uploaded.

Using Computer A (Work) - I have Zotero installed and all my references and attachments uploaded.

I use the sync button every day to make sure everything saved.

I cannot do a manual transfer of the data files (C Drive) so i am reliant on the sync function - is there a way to check that all files are saved and uploaded in case i need to get a new laptop or put on my personal laptop.
  • A successful Zotero sync operation (no errors shown under the top right icon), with file syncing turned ON, should ensure that all attachments are uploaded. You would need to be under your online file storage quota.

You can set the columns displayed in your web library to show Attachments.

You could also compare the size of the Zotero\storage folder hierarchy in your OS on your computer to the Current Usage of your online file storage quota listed here (they should be roughly the same):

BTW why is it that you "cannot do a manual transfer of the data files (C Drive)" ?
You should not rely on online syncing for backup of your Zotero library - you should have another, primary backup of your Zotero data directory (eg to a cloud service or external drive).

Copying that data folder to a new computer is also one of the two ways to transfer a library to a new computer (option B below, and a secondary option to syncing for most people)

  • @k.chauhan2555: Simply syncing while under your quota should be sufficient, but for good measure, you can do a Reset File Sync History from the Sync → Reset section of the Zotero settings. That's not necessary in normal usage, but it will force Zotero to check every local attachment to make sure it's been uploaded.
