Is there a way to change the citation numbering sequence for every page?

Hi, I'm writing my thesis with Zotero this year, and I've started using the Vancouver style (modified for footnotes) for writing my citations. However, I've encountered an issue. I want every page to start citing numbers from 1 (that's the way my university works with citations).

Is there a way to change the numbering sequence for every page??
  • Is your university expecting the references to beat the bottom of each page (so footnotes, rather than citations)? Otherwise, how is the 1 on one page distinguished from the 1 on another page?
  • yes it's footnotes
  • Vancouver is not a footnote style, but a numeric in-text style.
They might look the same, but are completely different.

Switch to an actual note style like Chicago or MHRA and Zotero will use actual Word footnotes.
Theoretically you can then make section breaks for each page which allows you to have footnotes start at 1 again for each section. Why one would want that, that's something I don't understand though.
