But in MLA 6th edition?
Hi!
I downloaded MLA 6th edition (notes) and it is exactly the citation style I need.
But there seems to be a "bug".
Every book that is cited in the footnotes gets the (senseless) addition "Bde." (German = Bände/English would be "vol."). I did not fill in information about volumes when I added the bibliographical information for books, but still it adds "Bde." after the title of every book I cite, see for example:
Agatha Wolff und Elisabeth Deken, Historie van mejuffrouw Sara Burgerhart, Bde. (Den Haag: Isaac van Cleef, 1782), online, Internet, 3 Sep. 2025. , Available: https://www.dbnl.org/tekst/wolf016hist01_01/colofon.php. 630.
When I go to the Zotero "Zitierstil-Editor" (style editor?) I can see the programming language, but am unable to find the mistake and fix it.
Is there any way to fix this problem without having to correct the footnotes manually?
Thanks for your help!

dunningThis style has been superseded and I think it ought to be deleted from the repository. Is there a specific publication calling for this style?

BvD06This older version of MLA gives full bibliographical information in the (first) footnotes. So I am looking for a MLA-style with full bibliographical information in notes. Version 6 seems to have been removed now. But version nine only gives last names, even in the first footnote. Which style can I choose now?

BvD06Chicago Manual of Style 17th edition (full note) seems to work for me quite well. So this problem is solved.

BvD06Thank you!

dunningBrilliant: the Chicago 17th/18th edition styles should be robust. That MLA 6th edition notes style was a variant for a specific journal that has now thankfully switched to official MLA style. For other notes styles with full bibliographical details, you can also look at New Hart's Rules and MHRA.
