Because the page numbers are successive for the entire year (but would not have been in the original), she would like to cite from the bound volume, especially since that is how she accessed it online. "Magazine article" refers to a single article whereas this is an entire volume for the year. She'd rather not have to cite each article individually as that would be several dozens.
