Show color tags next to titles

I just switched to Zotero 7 (finally) and noticed that the way color tags are shown in the center pane has changed. The documentation (under "colored tags") shows what it looked like in Zotero 6 (https://www.zotero.org/support/collections_and_tags#colored_tags)

Whereas previously color tags would just appear next to item titles and accrue if there were more than one, the only solution I could find on Zotero 7 is to add a tag column in front of the title. The issue with this is that the column width does not adjust to the number of tags, meaning I would have to keep a large gap in fron of the title in the chance that one of the items has more than one tag. I use colored tags extensively to quickly check which items I have read/are important/etc.

Is there an alternative way of doing this? Thank you!
  • Colored tags are still displayed before titles. The appearance of the color swatches changed slightly, but there shouldn’t any difference in the behavior of that feature. Do you have any plugins installed that could be interfering?
  • (There's definitely some plugin involved, since Zotero doesn't have a tag column by default.)
  • Ah yes, you're right! It seems that trying out the ethereal style plugin disabled this feature! I'll have to figure out if there is a workaround... Thank you for the speedy response!
