no sync facility

Reinstalling on new MacBook Pro but unable to synch with files available on other computers. There is no sync icon in the preferences. Firefox and zotero are both latest versions. Help.

    Syncing is only available in Zotero 2.0. It sounds like you have 1.0.

    Thanks for this but now I am really confused as on two other computers I have version 1 installed and they sync quite happily

    I assure you you do not have version 1.0 installed if you're using syncing.

    Thanks for your assurance. What do I know apart from the fact that the 'Advanced' pane of the zotero preferences notes that it is version 1 and that I have been synching documents for some months.

    The "Advanced" pane, at the bottom, shows the OpenURL version number as 1.0, which is not the Zotero version number. For that, you want to click on About Zotero from the gear icon menu.
