APA7: Add letter to publication date even if originally published date is different
Hi all,
I'm working on a dissertation that has a lot of "book section" references to essays that were often published in the same year as part of a collected works for the author, but the essays in a given volume often have different "originally published" dates. Zotero seems to handle this fine using the "original-date" tag in the Extra field.
For example for 3 different essays, Zotero inserts in-text citations as:
(1926/1967a)
(1926/1967b) -- different essay but same original AND publish date
(1927/1967) -- different essay but different original date so no letter added
However, my copy editor says that APA should distinguish publish dates with a letter _regardless_ of the original date.
For example, for the same 3 essays, should the in-text citations be:
(1926/1967a)
(1926/1967b)
(1927/1967c)
Changing them all manually would break a huge number of Zotero links in my document. I can't find a definitive APA reference online that states which way is correct. Hoping someone out there has run into this and can chime in.
Thank you!

https://github.com/citation-style-language/styles/pull/7510
1. Downloaded apa.csl from your pull request
2. Renamed the "title" and "id" entries at the top of the CSL to be unique and saved
3. Loaded the new CSL into the Zotero Style Manager
4. Switched the Document Preferences in Word to use the updated APA style
5. Refreshed references
After that I'm still seeing the letters only applied to the Publish Date if both Original Date and Publish Date are matching.
