Windows Client doesn't display any library items (which *are* there)

7.1-beta.36+1eacc8bbd (64-bit).

As far as I recall, all I did was that I cliked the 'sort by name' button in one of my Libraries. The paper list window immediately blanked. But other libraries were working. I restarted Zotero a few times and now my whole computer. Now no libraries display anything. (The web client does.)

What should I do?
  • (Also: The Obsidian Zotero Integration Plugin seems to be working, the data about the papers are still extractable by Obsidian.)

The papers are still there in my local storage folder, too.

Restart in Troubleshooting Mode (Help → "Restart in Troubleshooting Mode…”), which temporarily disables all plugins.

If that fixes it, you'll need to identify the plugin that's causing it and then report the problem to the plugin's developer.

If not, can you provide a Debug ID for Zotero startup through reproducing this, using the "Restart with Logging Enabled…" option?
  • Thank you. That didn't do it -- one of my libraries started working, but another again showed me a blank list with the information that Zotero encountered an error which I may report. I did that: Report ID 1639228237.
  • That's a Report ID, not a Debug ID for Zotero startup through reproducing this.
  • Also, can you check your database integrity from the Advanced → Files and Folders pane of the Zotero settings?
  • As far as I recall, all I did was that I cliked the 'sort by name' button in one of my Libraries.
To confirm, do you mean you clicked on the "Title" column in the table to sort the items by it?

Are there no entries appearing in "My Library" as well? When you restarted Zotero, was "My Library" selected, or one of the groups?
  • @dstillman, apologies. Debug ID is D1411267107. (I restarted Zotero and clicked on my 'SONATA_BIS' library, to find the entry list empty though on the right pane it says '983 items in this view'.)

And indeed the integrity checker finds errors. I will take the steps at https://www.zotero.org/utils/dbfix/ but it will take time.

@abaevbog, entries in 'My Library' do appear and the library is always selected on startup. Yes, I did click the 'Title' column.

Well, the fix website gives me repeatedly a '504 Gateway Timeout' error (in two different browsers) even though I had zipped the file. I will try the manual steps.
  • Alright: repaired manually. No errors so far. However, now I have '982 items' in my SONATA_BIS: so one got deleted :-)
