D1289832857 for Zotero Connector 5.0.158 with Firefox 136.0.3 (amd64) may be a duplicate. For pages such as:

    https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=41490290

In D1289832857 I clicked OK (not Cancel), assuming that it would add the web page without the non-selected item. I had no idea that the item related to a DOI until after I worked around the issue.

If not a duplicate, please let me know, I'll provide steps to reproduce.
  • @grahamperrin: Not a related issue; not a bug. If you hover over the Zotero toolbar button on that page, you'll see that it's using the DOI translator. If you want to save as a webpage, right-click and choose Save to Zotero -> Web Page with Snapshot.

I can see why you expected it to fall back to saving the page if you didn't select any DOI items, but that just isn't how the Connector works.
  • We are planning to list the current webpage at the top of the select-items dialog when the DOI translator is being used so that it's always possible to save the current page without right-clicking, though.
