I'm still not getting this to work with Amazon. I tried deleting and re-adding the extension. Help! I'm a professor who is teaching a class where students edit Wikipedia, and being able to quickly download clear citations is central!
The problem remains for 2025-02-28. The Chrome and Firefox add-ons won't work for Amaozon's books. "An error occurred saving with Amazon. Attempting to save using Save as Webpage instead.". Please investigate this issue again. Thanks.
I am having this problem today--both in Amazon and Barnes and Noble from a Chrome browser. In Amazon, when I select a book, the Save-to-Zotero icon turns into a book. At B&N, it stays gray. But both behave the same way. They declare an error and say they'll save it as a webpage, which is what happens. I have looked over the instructions mentioned above but see no instructions for how to clear an Amazon cache. How is that done?
Sorry for the delay, Abe. I've been away from this computer for a couple of days, and it's not happening on my other computer. The problem has been on any book I pick in Amazon. My Debug ID is D239293444. This morning, I removed my Connector extension from Chrome and reinstalled it. But no change.
You seem to be getting a different version of the Amazon page. That could just be some A/B test, but if you're running any other browser extensions, try disabling those and reloading the page. If not, or if that doesn't help, can you right-click → Show File on the saved webpage item and email the .html file to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread?
Fixed. Your Zotero Connector should auto-update within a few minutes, or you can update translators manually from the Advanced pane of the Zotero settings.
I can also reproduce the National Archives issue - will fix.
But we need a URL and a Connector Debug ID for Amazon to say anything more on this.
Here is the URL: https://www.amazon.com/Quick-Guide-Zotero-Management-Genohistory/dp/0999689940
It's happening for every URL I try in Amazon.
