The MPG version of the editor is fine, but it's not up to date -- e.g. it doesn't use CSL 1.0.2 and I'd guess it's also several years behind with the CSL styles searched (we're also a bit behind).
The Mendeley version of the CSL editor is also typically significantly out of date, so I wouldn't recommend that (and it's definitely not more official than the version at citationstyles.org)
I am indeed getting a DNS error when trying to validate the subdomain. @dstillman @fcheslack -- I believe you own citationstyles.org -- everything looks right for the rest of the site, but the editor throws a DNS failure. Can you check? (GH documentation here: https://docs.github.com/en/pages/configuring-a-custom-domain-for-your-github-pages-site/managing-a-custom-domain-for-your-github-pages-site )
edit: I'm actually seeing DNS check in progress across all sites, though the rest is still online, so this is a bit more urgent.
Updated to .io now. It's now a 404, but @adamsmith, I assume you just need to re-configure the site for that address for it to work again. (You might need to force a DNS refresh to see the 404.) Not sure what you mean here?
For the DNS check in progress, that's likely a red herring:

appears on all properties and doesn't go away, but doesn't actually seem to be a problem, so never mind.
