Hi All,
I have recently experienced that inserting a citation into a paper creates automatic translation at specific parts of the citation, e.g. these elements appear in Hungarian: Eds. - Szerk., et al., - és mtsai, p. - o., etc.
They are (more or less) equivalent, however, this method raises several problems:
1. APA does not have a Hungarian standard, so we usually use the English version
2. It translates also in that case when the article itself is English - it looks rather strange, e.g.:
In-text:
(Sheingold és mtsai., 2023) - Hungarian does not have a full-stop behind mtsai, and in an English-language paper we need the English version
(Bygstad és mtsai., 2022, o. 45) incorrect issues: we use it in this form: 45. o., no full-stop, English version

General questions: how do you use other non-English language users the APA-standard? Do you have some national standard, or do you use the original English?

It isn't possible to have the language change depending on the language of the cited item, though.
