Error Chicago 17th edition in the German setting

In German there is hardly ever a comma before "und". Currently the style formats inline citations (didn't check the footnotes) with several authors as

x und y
which is correct, but
x, y, und z

which is wrong in German (probably correct in English). There is never a comma before "und" in an enumeration.
  • The comma can't be adjusted in locales, so this can't be changed. You'd have to live with this, adjust the style, or work with a German style. We do have a 16th edition German one -- I'd need to see if that's actually used anywhere as a dependent, otherwise we could update that to the 18th edition:

  • I had to correct the 16th edition myself in the past.

Really, that cannot be done separately? In that case a separate German style would be great. However, that same error is also in the German 16th edition.

I cannot remember, but I believe I had another problem with the 16th edition which was solved in the 17th.
