Hi all,

I am using a Mac with MS Word as my processor. I had a manuscript that I added all references to and sent to a collaborator.
On receiving it, I needed to add some new references. Doing this, resets the counter even though I add it somewhere in the middle of the manuscript (reference number is 45).

Please can you help me with fixing this? It is often that receiving manuscripts from collaborators disrupts the bibliography completely.

Is this an issue of incompatibility between macs and windows?
