Thanks, I don't get any report ID but, I'm using MacOS Monterey 12.6.2, Word 6.85.2 and Zotero connector. When I try adding a reference the red box just stays there and I have to restart the program. Like the fourth or fifth time i try this, suddenly it works. for 30 minutes, then back to crashing.

While it may not help, you should start by updating to the latest version of Monterey (12.7.5) or a later version of macOS. 12.6.2 is outdated. OK, that's a freeze, not a crash. A crash would be one of the programs closing completely.
Can you reproduce this in a new, empty document, or only in an existing document? Approximately many citations?
