Upgrade StorageZotero note insertion deletes in-text citations prior to insertion (macOS)

Zotero note insertion deletes in-text citations prior to insertion. I can restore them by hitting cmd + Z (undo) several times but I am unsure why they are being deleted.
I have a loom screen recording demonstrating the issue. Unsure if I should post publicly or send via DM to those who respond.
