Why can't the Zotero Style Editor modify newly added styles?

I added a new style, such as the BMC journal style, in the Style Manager. Why can't I modify the newly added style using the Style Editor?

    Because that's a dependent style — it's just a pointer to another style. View the Source link on the Styles page to see the actual style from the independent-parent link (probably "BioMed Central"), and then install and edit that one.
