Cannot automatically create parent item

When i drag one pdf into the library, it cannot add the parent item into the library, i can only manully create parent item by the DOI. When i try to retreieve the metadata for the pdf, it reports "Could not read text from pdf"

    Is this the PDF from https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/8836456, or from somewhere else? That one works for me.

    That's the point, it works on my fellow's zotero too, but defininely not on mine. It cannot generate item for all papera downloaded form ieee or ei

    Can you provide a Debug ID for reproducing this?

    (To be clear, though, on a supported site like IEEE Xplore, you should just save from the article page, and Zotero will automatically save the PDF along with the metadata. There's no reason to save the PDF directly and rely on metadata retrieval.)
