How do I delete a reference link that has already been added?

I am using microsoft word and zotero. I have added 60 references in word and would like to remove about 10 of them. It doesn't remove them neatly, it does it in such a messy way that I have to add the references from number 1. How can I remove some of the references in a clean way?

For example, if I delete reference 1, it doesn't replace reference 2 with reference 1, it doesn't replace all the other numbers one by one, and it doesn't leave reference 1 itself. Please see the picture file I uploaded.

How are you deleting references? If you delete the number in the text, that should just work

Correct, yes. Otherwise you'd have orphaned numbers in the text

If I remove the number from the text, it doesn't remove the reference from the bibliography list organized at the end of the text. What I'm wondering is how to cleanly edit the reference entries at the end of the text.

It will remove the reference, yes. Start testing this in a small test doc with 3 citations so you see how this is supposed to work. If that doesn't work in your main document, we can troubleshoot from there

i removed number 1 cite in text but does not reflected in bibliography ..

What I want is that if I clear one reference, it will automatically reflect that and sort the order from the first to the last number.
