Upgrade StorageMagnification sotware ZoomText & Fusion break down Zotero Word-AddIn
Hi,
will the Word-Addin of Zotero be accessible in Zotero 7 with screen magnification software?
In Zotero 6 and the new Beta of Zotero 7 Zotero breaks down while using the screen magnifier ZoomText or Fusion from Freedom Scientific (Versions 2023 and 2024) and trying to add a citation in Word.
With Ultimate Screen Acces, the magnification tool with the Screenreader NVDA the AddOn works quite well. Due to other incompatibilites, I cannot use NVDA with Ultimate Screen Access.

But you'd probably want to Freedom Scientific about this. It's unlikely we could fix this on our end.
while trying to add a citation this message from Zotero appears: "The program does not respond". Zotero must be restarted and the same situation repeats. Same thing with the function "magic wand" in Zotero to find a book by ISBN, but this function is not necessary because of other ways to get the data. I do not know a workaorund for the Word-Addin.
Freedom Scientifc's answer is:
"We are not familiar with this Zotero software and whether it can work with ZoomText or Fusion. So this software puts in an add-in in MS Word and is MS Word crashing when this is in use with Fusion? Do you have more details on the issue?
The ACCEvent is part of Microsoft architecture that we have to use in our product to do what our product does. Unfortunately that architecture can sometimes trigger issues with third party programs to not respond or crash. Any type of modification would have to be done by our developers. It would be something they would see if they can find a work around for or depending on the situation it might be something they have to report to Microsoft to help fix."
That means, parts of Zotero can only be used when ACC event features are deleted. Then, the functionality is very bad.
Is there a possibility to contact Freedom scientifc yourself to secure the functionality of Zotero 7?
