Inconsistent number after removing duplicates

So I'm just starting to use Zotero for more serious work. Ran into a lot of duplicates and got rid of them through Zotero itself. I originally had about 357 entries in my various collections, the trashbin shows I deleted 110, but the main library shows I have 330 entries left. Whats going on?

    Did you empty the trash? If yes, someone will ask additional questions.

    Yes, nothing changed. In fact, if I count the items in my collections, it adds up to 357 anyway. But the main library still shows 330.

    Items can be in multiple collections, so those numbers make sense

    But I thought I removed the duplicates? Why is my library total more than what should remain if i really deleted 110 entries?
