No "preferences" tab on the Zotero app

I have just spent hours installing and reinstalling Zotero on my Mac, watching YouTube videos, and still cannot get the Zotero app on Word.

There is no preference button on the app itself and I now do not know what to do. I really thought this app would be wonderful for my essay work but have come to the conclusion that it is not going to work on my laptop.

    The Zotero preferences are available from the same place as in every other app on your Mac: the application menu ("Zotero") → "Settings" or "Preferences" (depending on your macOS version).
