Empty lines in Notes disappear

When I add a note to a PDF in Zotero, I find that sometimes the line breaks are not retained. For instance, I enter a note like this:

This is a line.

Another paragraph here.
<<

Then when I close and reopen this note, it's been transformed to this:

>>
This is a line.
Another paragraph here.
<<

You see the empty line between the two paragraphs is gone.

Has anyone else seen this behavior? Is this a known bug?

    The issue is complex and is related to how Firefox (Zotero is based on it) manages rich text fields.

    We hope to improve that in future.
