Upgrade Storagehighlighting a pdf in zetero
Hii, Recently I have been unable to use the highlighting function in Zotero. I used to be able to do it with ease, but now it seems like it doesn't recognise the text. I've tried different texts and some work and some don't. So I'm not sure if it has something to do with the format of the text or something in my settings.

DeniseValentineI think it might have something to do with the fact that the papers had been photocopied. does anyone know what i can do to still use the highlight function?

samvimesIt seems like the PDFs have not been OCRed, which means that Zotero sees them as just an image, not as text. There's different software that can do OCR, for example Adobe Acrobat: https://www.adobe.com/de/acrobat/how-to/ocr-software-convert-pdf-to-text.html.
