names of journals in the bibliography are abbreviated with one letter

In the Vancouver citation style, the names of journals in the bibliography are abbreviated with one letter. Is that how it should be?
Thank you in advance.
example: Publ Am Assoc Orthod Its Const Soc Am Board Orthod. 1. März 2013;143:342–52.

  • That abbreviation is correct Vancouver abbreviation rules, yes. I usually see that the journal subtitles like “Official Publication of the the American Association…” are omitted. So, personally, I would set the Publication field this item to be American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, which would be abbreviated Am J Orthod Dentofac Orthop
  • Ok thank you very much.
