Sub-collection tag in a collection

Can the sub-collection that an item has been assigned to be seen when looking at the collection as a whole collection?

Can this be added as a column in the collection view?

You might use this script as a template to create a column that shows which sub-collections an item is in. I don't know how the collection data is stored but if you can figure that out, it would work I guess.

In the Zotero 7 beta, there's now a Libraries and Collection section in the item pane that shows the collections the selected item is in.

The Libraries and Collections section is very useful but is only available in the library view.

Would it be possible to also have this section in the side pane of the PDF viewer?

Yes, that omission was just a quirk of development. It will be added in an upcoming update.
