Duplicate detection fails to take Public Law Number into account

The two items in the screenshot has the same title and author, but a different Public Law Number - this should cause these to not be identified as duplicates.

There'll be a way to mark items as non-duplicates in the future. I don't think using Public Law Number to automate that is a good idea: at least in the US (and I assume internationally) these are frequently entered/spelled differently.
I'm not sure if there are plans to make the duplicate feature more customizable (I think there's certainly a use case for that but I've never seen devs show any interest in that) and in that case it would allow individual users to fine-tune this (i.e., in your case add the Public Law Number as a distinctive field.)
  • Thank you for the reply. I was kind of assuming public law number to be similar to isbn - as a unique identifier.
In my case I can fix it by adding the law number to the title.

    Thanks,
    Sune
