[Zotero 7]How to change the font size in pop-up notes

edited February 16, 2024
Hi there,

I just find out that the font size change setting only works for sidebar notes while the popup comments annotated on the PDF don't change at all.

A detailed image is attached below. I set the font size to 16 and the comments displayed are still in 14 font, which makes it hard for me to read. Is there any way to increase the popup comment font size?

Thanks in advance!
  • At least in the latest beta version, selecting View → Font Size → Bigger increases the font size in the sidebar and pop-up.
  • I removed all the add-ons and update Zotero to the newest version, however, the pop-up font size is still fixed while I select View → Font Size → Bigger.

It is really confusing, but I can live with that.
  • View → Font Size → Bigger should change UI font size everywhere in Zotero. Do you see that?
  • Yes, `View → Font Size → Bigger` can change UI font size anywhere but it does not include the annotation font size, neither the sidebars nor the pop-ups.

And `View → Note Font Size → Bigger` change the sidebar notes font size, as described in the image above.
  • I don't know if this will help, but my environment is:

    OS: macOS 12.5
    Zotero Version: 7.0.0-beta.59+009a2ca38

  • Anyone else can reproduce View → Font Size → Bigger not increasing annotation comment text font size in the reader sidebar or popups?
  • 7.0.0-beta.58+2665090aa (64-bit) windows 10

annotation comment text font size which is in both sidebar and popups, gets bigger.

by the way, can you redirect me to link how can i customize pop-up note content with more mark ups like lists, italic, underline, highlight? is this possible? or i am limited to edit those notes?

@documut You can see the supported formatting options when you select text in annotation comment.

@martynas_b i think shortcuts defined here applies to annotations, right? https://github.com/zotero/zotero/issues/1976#issuecomment-877072198

Since I mentioned that, markdown formatting defined there is missing from knowledge base.
