PDF

Does it matter if I am downloading journals from my school library into Zotero, and it's not downloading in PDF form? Will I still be able to use citations and make a bibliography? What is very interesting is that there is a PDF format on the journals I have downloaded, but when I click on the magic wand and get it to search for the PDF format, it says that there's no PDF available! I am using Chrome. I don't have Firefox.

The best way to bring items into Zotero is to browse to the article or chapter on the publisher's website and click the import icon. If your institution has a subscription you will import both the metadata and the PDF. If you have a DOI number, you can enter that into the magic wand and it will import the metadata and maybe the PDF. It isn't clear what you say you are adding to the magic wand field.

Provide URLs and DOIs as examples of what isn't working.
