How to read offline on ipad

Hello, I’d love some tips on if and how I can use Zotero for reading pdf’s offline on my iPad? So far I can only seem to work offline on the pdf I happen to have open, but I cannot seem to make more available for offline use? How do I do this? Got some hours to kill on a plane….

    It's not what you "have open" — downloaded files remain available locally unless you remove them.

    So you can 1) open files once, 2) tap and hold on individual items and choose "Download", or 3) tap and hold on an entire collection and choose "Download Attachments".

    So when do my downloads get cleared (otherwise local storage would go mad in a while) or do I always have to do that manually in settings? Thanks.

    Currently you would have to do it manually, either in settings or for specific items. Whether that's necessary depends on how much storage you have on your device.

    In the future it'll likely be possible to configure how many days to keep local copies of files.
