The format of the footnote numbering in the reference book.

When I follow the steps to select the Vancouver style and insert all the references in Word, after clicking "Add/Edit Bibliography", the footnote format in the generated bibliography is "1", but I want it to be "[1]". How can I achieve this without affecting the insertion of new references and corresponding citations in the main text?

    The number format is part of the citation styles - you'd either need to find one that does this (there are some) or edit one.
