Can't get the zotero connector for firefox

Hi,
is there an issue with the zotero connector plugin for Firefox?
I can't find it in store, and from the zotero site no downloads starts.
Could you help me?
Cheers
  • It's only available from zotero.org/download -- what happens when you right-click --> save link ason "Install Firefox Connector" there?
  • Hi, just nothing happens
  • also Zotero add-on is not available anymore on the firefox add-on store

It hasn't been available from addons.mozilla.org in many years.

If installing from the download page isn't working, and even right-click → "Save Link As…" isn't working, something is wrong with your Firefox installation or network connection. You can try saving the XPI via right-click → "Save Link As…" from a different browser or network and dragging it to the Add-ons pane in Firefox. But it's just a standard Firefox extension like any other, so we're not really able to help beyond that.
  • yeah none of the suggestions work. I could install the connector on firefox onmy other computer though so something might be wrong with the browser here. I installed the connector on chrome now, I hope the sync between my library from connectors on different browser will not be an issue. Thanks

I don't know what you mean by that. One of my suggestions was to download the XPI file from another browser or network and drag it into this one. You'd obviously be able to download the file from somewhere — there's nothing wrong with the link itself. If you're saying dragging the XPI you've saved into this Firefox installation doesn't work, that's a problem with your Firefox installation, and you should try refreshing Firefox or creating a new Firefox profile. Again, we can't help with that, but you can certainly install the extension into Firefox one way or another if that's what you want to do.
  • That is the link behind the download button, that is not working for me:
    https://www.zotero.org/download/connector/dl?browser=firefox&version=5.0.114
I did try to start the download from Chrome, and unfortunately it doesn't start.
I also see that is also happening sometimes with other people:
    https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/108699/cannot-download-firefox-connector
Therefore I used my phone and the download started. I guess there is maybe a missconfiguration at the server firewall config that prevents some browsers to reach the file.
    Have a great day.

To be clear, any misconfiguration or policy restriction would be on your end, not ours. That’s why I said to try from a different network. It’s just an open download link on our end.
  • I just had this same problem - tried clicking on the link to download, nothing happened. I opened another browser and used right-click → "Save Link As...", I could save and download the edge and chrome XPI's but not the firefox one. I decided to uninstall AVG Anti-Virus because it had been giving me problems. Voila! Problem solved, I could now click the download link and in 30 seconds I had Zotero Connector installed in Firefox.
